Recreation Youth Soccer
Join us this Fall for a fun season of Rec Soccer. Players in PreK (age 4) through grade 8 will develop skills, practice drills and learn the game. Dribble, pass, shoot!

Registration Deadline: August 9
If you register after the deadline, your player will be added to the waiting list. If a spot becomes available, your player's name will be moved off the waiting list. If and when this happens, an email will be automatically sent to you - so please keep an eye on your inbox. Log into your account at www.dunellenparksandrecreation.com to pay the registration fee and the $15 late fee. Your player will not be assigned to a team until payment is received. *A team uniform is not guaranteed for players who register late.

If you wish to withdraw registration, you may do so prior to August 23 for a refund of the registration fee minus a $15 administrative fee. A refund check will be processed and mailed to the address on your account. After that date, no refunds will be issued. Once teams are assigned, players may not switch teams. There will be no refunds issued for canceled practices or games.

Attire
Players must wear shin guards, soccer shorts and sneakers or soccer cleats (no metal spikes). *Team shirts and socks from the Rec Dept will be distributed by coaches. 

Parent/Guardian Volunteers Needed
In order to run the Dunellen Recreation Soccer Program, we need volunteer coaches and assistant coaches. We hope you’ll consider volunteering. Please reach out to Recreation Program Coordinator Kelly Seader at kseader@dunellenborough.com if you are interested or have any questions.

What are the requirements to volunteer?
1) A background screening through the Borough; and
2) Rutgers SAFETY certification; if you do not have your Rutgers SAFETY certification, you can take a three hour online class or attend an in-person class through Middlesex Borough’s Recreation Department (date to be announced). Fees for the background screening and SAFETY certification class are reimbursable by the Borough of Dunellen. Contact Kelly Seader at kseader@dunellenborough.com for further details.

What are the coach's responsibilities?
- Schedule and run one practice per week.
- Coach one game per week.
- Communicate practice and game schedules to parents.
- Hand out your players' uniforms.
- Report any injuries or equipment failures/needs to Dunellen Recreation.
- Teach players: drills, technique, game rules, and good sportsmanship.
- For grades PK-3, self-officiate games.

Levels and Games
Minimum age is 4 years old.
Grade PK | Games are on Saturdays at 8:00-8:20 AM at Columbia Park
Grades K-1 | Games are on Saturdays at 8:30-9:20 AM at Columbia Park
Grades 2-3 | Games are on Saturdays at 9:30-10:30 AM at Columbia Park
Grades 4-5 | Games are at 10:30-11:30 AM in Middlesex

Practices
One time per week (Mon-Th) at 6:30-7:30 PM at Columbia Park; day of the week is at the  discretion of your volunteer coach

Games
Depending on the number of teams, teams may not play every Saturday. No games will be held on Saturday, 10/19 because of a special event at Columbia Park. Games canceled due to inclement weather or other reason may or may not be rescheduled.

Registration fee
$75 residents, $90 non-residents

Season
9/14-11/9
Practices may begin prior to 9/14 depending on your coach's availability.

Levels and Games
Grades 4-5 | Games are on Saturday mornings in Middlesex (time and location to be announced)
Grades 6-8 | Games are on Saturday mornings in Middlesex and/or a weeknight evening at Columbia Park (time and location to be announced)

Practices
One time per week (Mon-Th) at 7:30-8:30 PM at Columbia Park; day of the week is at the  discretion of your volunteer coach

Games
Depending on the number of teams, teams may not play every game day. Games canceled due to inclement weather or other reason may or may not be rescheduled.
