2026 Youth Baseball and Softball - Girls Softball Rookie League
2026 Youth Baseball & Softball Registration Registration is now open for Dunellen Recreation’s Youth Baseball (ages 4–8) and Softball (grades 1–8) programs. The Opening Day Parade, Ceremony, and Games are scheduled for Saturday, April 11, 2026.
Registration Deadline
Monday, March 9 Players who register by March 9 will receive a team shirt and baseball cap or softball visor. Registrations received after March 9 will be assessed a $20 late fee and are not guaranteed a team shirt or cap/visor.
Equipment Requirements
All players must provide their own:
Batting helmet
Bat
Glove (mitt)
Sneakers or baseball/softball shoes with rubber cleats
Shorts are not permitted.
Volunteers
All coaches are volunteers. Teams can only be formed based on the number of available volunteer coaches. If you are interested in volunteering as a coach or assistant coach, please contact Recreation Director Kelly Seader at kseader@dunellenborough.com. All volunteers are required to complete the Borough’s background screening. New volunteers without Rutgers SAFETY certification must complete the 3-hour online course. Both expenses are reimbursable by the Borough upon timely submission of receipts.

T-Ball | Ages 4–5
Players must be 4 years old by April 18, 2026
Registration Fee: $50
Practices: Tuesday or Thursday, 6:30–7:30 PM (based on coach and field availability)
Games: One weeknight (Tuesday or Thursday) and Saturdays at 9:00 AM (Dunellen or Middlesex)
Coach Pitch | Ages 6–8
Registration Fee: $50
Practices: Monday or Wednesday, 6:30–7:30 PM (based on coach and field availability)
Games: One weeknight (Monday or Wednesday) and Saturdays at 10:30 AM (Dunellen or Middlesex)
Girls Softball
(Somerville Baseball Inc. Softball Division) Minimum of 10 players and a volunteer coach and assistant coach required.
Rookie League | Grades 1–3
Registration Fee: $75
Practices: Weekday evening (based on coach and field availability)
Games: TBA
Minor League | Grades 4–5
Registration Fee: $75
Practices: Weekday evening (based on coach and field availability)
Games: TBA
Major League | Grades 6–8

Non-Resident Fee
Non-residents must add $15 to all baseball and softball registration fees.
Refund Policy
A full refund minus a $20 administrative fee will be issued if written notice of withdrawal is received by April 1. Requests must be submitted to Recreation Director Kelly Seader at kseader@dunellenborough.com. No refunds will be issued after April 1.
